OMG the Pacific Coast Highway and Beach! 🥺

Sunday October 13th, 2024

This past weekend, my friend came into town to hang out for a bit. We ended up going towards Malibu , and found a small beach called Sycamore Cove Beach, on the PCH, Pacific Coast Highway. It was such a neat drive up, because we went through Calabasas, the Topanga Mountains and eventually got onto the PCH. That was cool, for me personally because I always wanted to drive on the PCH. Bucket list item checked!!

PCH video, you should be able to switch the quality to 1080p! 🙂

We wanted to go to Sycamore Cove Beach instead of Malibu, because they had campfires there. However, we weren’t completly sure if we could use them so we didn’t get firewood. 😞 Big mistake. We ended up trying to make a fire with napkins, newspapers, sticks found on the beach, an old wet log and lighter fluid. But as any camper knows, that did not work out as well. But we got something for a bit.

Nonetheless, we had fun exploring, chatting, relaxing, eating and even swimming. (Though the waves were super rough, and I tumbled trying to get back to shore…)

Eventually some of the RIT alum joined us towards the end, and we expected to see a sunset, but it was too cloudy. 😦

Overall a fun drive and well worth the time going out there. I honestly think the drive was just as fun as the beach itself!
