I have been so lucky to have aquired an internship with Atlas Lens Co in Glendale California! I am a marketing intern, in which I help create promotional videos to show off what the lenses can do. So, I get to learn about the cinematographers who use them and edit the videos for the Tuesday telecasts they have. Usually during the Tuesday telecast, it is a live stream event that happens at 11:30 Pacific time, and we will either interview some creatives or technicians that use the lenses and in turn, we promote our brand with their expertise. It’s pretty fun, and so far I have learned a lot. I may be on one as wellโ€ฆ

So far, I have absolutely loved my internship. The people at Atlas lens co are super friendly, and really funny. They work hard, and play hard, and I love that mentality. They make all of the anamorphic lenses in house, with their clever team of mechanical engineers. My coworkers in the offices either work in operations, sales or marketing. Everyone there is incredibly lovely, and I am thankful that this is one of my first professional experiences within my career of choice!

Side note: I love Ikea. it’s so cool.

I usually work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, however Atlas, has an event called Wednesday lensday where cinematographers, clients, curious people and partners can come and hang out and play with the lenses. Plus we get free coffee from Kaleido, ran by Brenden. He is super cool, and makes THE BEST CHAI ROSE DRINK I HAVE EVER HAD!!

I go to the Wednesday lensday everts almost all the time. I find you always learn something, and get to meet others who are working and learning within the film industry. I love this event, because it feels like a community. If there is anything this world needs right now is more community, and I am incredibly lucky to be apart of the Atlas Lens Co community!

Photo Above: this is me and Hajoon (Dan) Park, an RIT cinematography alum who works under Dan Kanes (the CEO) as his assistant. We are on a virtual production set at SV Studios in Glendale. That day was a lens test starring the VP wall and Nathan Rey Gold, a content creater, filmmaker, and photographer from Orange County.
